Context

Enterprise Ireland was looking for a new way to equip their client-facing teams with the skills to drive more proactive, strategic client engagements.

For the 2025 UK & Nordics Regional Conference, Player 1 Labs created The Great City Tour: an in-person learning journey where advisors moved through city-themed stations, each designed to build sharper validation, questioning, and client advisory skills through hands-on, scenario-based challenges.

Objectives

  • Sharpen Strategic Questioning: Empower advisors to uncover deeper client needs through better, more targeted questions.

  • Enhance Listening and Scoping: Build the skills needed to listen actively and define clearer, more impactful engagement strategies.

  • Create Real-World Relevance: Ensure learning is grounded in the actual dynamics of client-facing work across the UK and Nordics.

Format

  • In-person experiential learning

  • Delivered at the 2025 UK & Nordics Regional Conference in Manchester

  • Client advisors rotated through challenges in teams of 3

  • Immersive, skill-building exercises based on real client scenarios

Activity description

Collaborative Skill Stations

Advisors moved in teams through a series of hands-on stations, each designed to reflect real client scenarios and challenges drawn from Enterprise Ireland’s day-to-day work.

Every exercise used a unique, interactive format — ranging from live role-plays to visual sorting and strategic questioning — ensuring no two stations felt the same.

Peer Learning and
Expert Feedback

Teams were encouraged to discuss, debate, and compare their approaches at every station, learning from each other in real time. Expert facilitators guided each challenge, providing feedback, validating solutions, and pushing teams to think more strategically.

Practical Skills, Immediate Impact

Each challenge targeted a core advisory skill: asking better questions, validating client needs, active listening, and strategic scoping.

By the end of the experience, advisors had gained practical techniques, peer insights, and expert guidance they could immediately apply to elevate their client conversations.
